Asking for 更

I would like to find more information about “更” and the nuances of its meanings, but I only find the basic meanings given by dictionaries. Can someone help me?

  1. You need more context than this. Not every kanji has a word associated with just it and no other characters and even if it does, there’s often more than one meaning. 更に=さらに means “furthermore” but you really need to look this up in a dictionary, that’s the closest to a single word associated with this character. What context brought this up? Why is a dictionary insufficient for this?

  2. In Chinese, the kanji is an adverb meaning “even more so” It can be viewed as an adverb in jukugo pairs in Japanese. 更新 ”even more make new” →”renew” or it can be used to represent the Japanese sound さら in さらに which is the Japanese adverb/conjunction even more. , furthermore,
