I recently got a Japanese phone number, but I have phone call from the US or even China. I don’t know how they have my number, since I used it on just very few websites, like Mercari. Anyone have those too ? Thanks
Sometimes I get as many as 1-2/day. The few times I answered it (accidentally, when it was from a US number), was a robocaller speaking japanese. I’m told that if you stay on the line you get connected with a human speaking very chinese-accented japanese for some scam or another.
I immediately hang up on all robot calls, even if they’re ostensibly from some company that I have a preexisting contact with, on the basis that if they wanted to talk to me badly enough they’d at least use a human.
random spam calls. ignore. no idea why you’re being targeted, maybe your current number was (under previous owner) on some kinda spam list. nothing you can do except ignoring it.
Everyone gets them. They’re scammers using automated dialers that call every possible number combination, so you get them no matter how carefully you protect your number. I always block them whenever I get one.
Same! The few times I answered there was no sound from the other side.
I got q call last week from a Somali lady acting kuwaiii and saying: moshi moshi. She offered me a very easy job that I can do on my spare time. O also get some random messages about job offers. There are also the random love messages from HK ladies that later will invite you to meet her uncle and learn to invest crypto. So yeah beware of all of these

Humble brag much? I don’t even get local calls 😭

Remote job offer? From a big well known company? No experience needed, high salary, can do from your home? It’s always the same crap. Just report and block all.
Wish WhatsApp added a function to block calls from “xx countries”
I don’t even answer my phone unless I know who it is.
Latest one:
”Hi, I am Taro from blahblah. Would you be interested in investing in an apartment in which you can make money off of?”
”Nah. I am fine.”
”How much do you make a year? 5-6K?”
”More than that.”
”How much?”
”Do you know my name?”
Silence ensues….
I enjoy these calls because I get to play around with them until they get so frustrated they hang up.
Please don’t answer them. Could be an annoying robo fakes call or could be a hacker trying to locate where you are. They can pinpoint your address if you answer.
