Im trying to learn japanese. I thought maybe reading a couple nursery Japanese books might help me read better but i cant find any books online. Any idea where i might find some for free?

  1. Try a library. They probably have an inter library loan system in place so even if there are no Japanese books in your local one they might be able to get one on loan. Many libraries also offer ebooks through Libby.

If you’re looking for easy reading material and aren’t beholden to just nursery books, there’s the ever-dependable NHK News Web Easy and the similar Todai. These even have toggle switches for turning Furigana off and on.

Of course, there are also ebooks available on Amazon.co.jp if neither of these fit your needs but you do have to pay.

  2. Also check out yasashii news! It’s totally free, totally in Japanese, good news, and all kanji has hiragana at the top and difficult words have definitions (in more simple Japanese)

  3. Satori reader may be your best bet. You’d have to pay but it’s still worth checking out
