To celebrate the coming of Autumn (after this oppressively hot and humid summer) Kichijoji has an [Autumn Festival](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TyNvUpUMPz8) on the second weekend of September with 11 Mikoshi paraded through the streets. Each mikoshi group has their own unique chant.
I was lucky enough to participate in northern Kyoto one year as my friend was in charge of the mikoshi. Thank you for unlocking a twenty year old memory. I think I still have the tabi shoes with melted asphalt stuck to them. Beautiful picture.
