My boyfriend and I will go to date at Tokyo this summer. Since it’s really hot we are looking for a mall or any inclosed place that you would recommend.
Odaiba’s DiverCity has Tyffonium, a VR attraction. If you like Resident Evil/Silent Hill games, their “Corridor” attraction is great (you need to make a reservation)
Go to a TeamLab facility! Much more enjoyable than a mall, while probably spending a similar amount
You could stop by Aeon Lake Town, just outside of Tokyo. It’s the largest mall in Japan.
Yeah I second Odaiba, you can also go to the teamlab thing, which is very close
You can consider to go to cinema and museum too
Art or other museums are plentiful in Tokyo, as well. More enriching than a mall. (I would skip the parasite museum on a date though.)
There are so many malls/shopping center/dept stores in Tokyo so you might want to be more specific….? Like, your preferences regarding area, budget (posh high end malls vs affordable shops), activities/exhibitions? I agree with other commenters that museums or galleries may be an option. If you want to combine both, there’s KITTE marunouchi which I think is good because 1) not too crowded 2) has a cute little museum inside (Intermediatheque, free admissions!) and 3) near Tokyo station so it’s accessible and the view is great. But they don’t have that many shops and is on the high end side.
I recommend mega donki in Shinjuku. Lots of costumes.
If you go to Odaiba, you might like Small Worlds.
There’s a big ol’ mall in Ikebukuro called Sunshine City, which also has an observation deck, aquarium, planetarium and the largest collection of gacha machines in the world. It was built over an old prison site and is haunted, so watch out for that 👻
Shibuya Parco has an independent movie theater and the floors have something for everyone.
