Got 20+ likes within an hour of installing the app. Seems like the app could have at least sent one of them my way but instead I reached the swipe-limit with 0 matches. What’s up with this app? Can people that you’re not filtering for swipe right on your profile. I’ve filtered for women in their mid 20’s to mid 30’s but perhaps chances are that a lot of those likes are men in their 40’s, etc?

They purposely keep your matches out of your results and give you roughly 2 matches every 2-3 days to encourage you to pay for premium/that you continue to use the app.
It is pretty common knowledge that bumble as well as tinder kinda SoftBan you when you only or mostly swipe right. They don’t want you to mindlessly swipe right in everyone so if you do that they may hide your profile from others so you don’t get likes or don’t show your likes to you.
I get new likes and within a few swipes I find the ones who liked me either by matching or seeing the notification that I missed a match by swiping left. Everytime.
I met my current GF through Bumble. I think there were some bots, but it was way better than Tinder.
Bumble works fine in Japan (met my partner on it) and is much better than Tinder in my experience.
The swipe limit and the algorithm are there to incentivize you to pay up, otherwise you’ll still match eventually, it’ll just take a few days (and lucky swipes I guess).
As all dating apps out there, bumble is not an exception.
Just buy premium – best money you’ll ever spend.
