Hi!
I’m graduating from a japanese university at the end of September. I’ve been looking for a job for several months, had a couple of interviews but the language was an issue (I’m currently N3 level).
I got the offer this week. The employer proposed to change the visa to job hunting visa but I have only a couple of weeks before the end of the program (meaning my visa will be invalid?)
My question is
1. Is it even realistic that I can get job hunting visa this fast?
2. If not, what would be the optimal plan to follow:
a) trying to change the status of residency (in this case I can get 2 months of extention of visa)
b) go back to my home country and wait for the COE from employer (how long on average can I expect to wait for it?)
Thanks a lot for your answers in advance

If a company already wants to hire you, why can’t you just change it to a work visa?
There’s no need to go back to home country, it will take forever again to redo the process from COE.
If you already got offer and pretty much hired, should be possible to just straight up convert from student visa to work visa after you graduate.
Maybe ask if company willing to offer immigration lawyer service to make the process easier.
In my case I converted from student visa to work visa after about 4 months studying in language school.
