Tokyo Disneyland out to Shinjuku

I’ve searched through the internet and forums and the bulk of information is on how to get into Disneyland. I need help to travel the other way.

I am traveling with 2 young kids and it will be inconvenient to change trains with luggage too. Hence, the decision to take the bus.

I read that JR Bus Kanto provides this service but I couldn’t find the link to the online site or the bus timetable.

Does anyone know if the buses allow luggage on board? They look like tour buses that can accomodate big travel luggage from the images. Would we need to purchase 4 tickets in advance to secure our seats?

And it’d be great if someone can direct me to the sales website to check the bus service timetable and pricing.

I’m staying at Mimaru Tokyo Shinjuku West if this helps.

  1. I think your solution is luggage forwarding, so much easier to handle kids without luggage. Are you staying at Disney hotel? Staff can sort that for you easily.

  2. We did this exact thing last year. We stayed in Disneyland and it was easy to simply take the train wherever you wanted to in Tokyo from there. There are both busses and monorail that take you directly to the train station (5 min?) and from there you are on trains to Tokyo. It takes longer since you are not IN Tokyo, but its not difficult to navigate

  3. Here is the [timetable & fare](https://www.keiseibus.co.jp/kousoku/timetable.php?id=27) for highway bus by JR and Kisei, Disney <=> Shinjuku. 1000y/500y pp. check out [this thread](https://www.reddit.com/r/TokyoDisneySea/comments/1514z1f/comment/js71yzr/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web2x&context=3) regarding more details on bus options in/out of Tokyo Disney

from what I’m reading, these highway (not express/long-distance) buses are paid on the bus when out of Tokyo Disney. You would line up an wait to get on the bus in order. Avoid park closing times if you have a choice.

  4. Takyubin luggage forwarding to next hotel (send it the day prior). Then take the JR Keio (red) line all the way to tokyo station then transfer to shinjuku station via Jr chuo (orange).

  5. Is your base hotel for your trip will be Mimaru and you just need to get to Disney for your day activities?

Or are you needing to do Disneyland first then travel to Mimaru Hotel?

  6. Disney Hotels will not deliver your baggage to a non-Disney hotel. They have delivery service only to the other Disney Hotels in Maihama. However, there is a service to deliver baggage to your ***home*** but I wouldn’t recommend this to attempt to send to another hotel. **Tokyo DisneySea:**

Bus stop #3 at Bus Terminal SOUTH (near MiraCosta entrance)

THERE ARE NO RESERVATIONS FOR THESE BUSSES. You get in the queue at the boarding area and board. If a bus gets full, wait for the next one. No reserved seats.

Fares are paid inside the bus by cash or using an IC card such as SUICA or PASMO. 1,000yen per adult, 500yen per child. All busses have trunk room for baggage.

The trip Shinjuku Station (actually Shinjuku Bus Terminal) takes about an hour depending on traffic.

  7. Not sure why you don’t stay directly in Shinjuku and then just take the train out to go to Disneyland, unless you are staying at a special Disney hotel for that experience.
