Sorry TSMC, but you decided to build your facilities in what can charitably be described as ‘fiery hell on Earth’ aka Arizona. Nobody of means and intellect really wants to live in the middle of a sun-scorched hellhole where temperatures in excess of 38c are COMMON.
Calbee is a force to be reckoned with.
>TSMC sees workers in Japan, which is known for long hours and strong commitment to employers, as more willing to work a punishing schedule with overtime as chipmaking machines run around the clock in sterile clean rooms, the sources said.

>”A lot of machines cannot be shut down because it costs TSMC to recalibrate on rebooting,” said a chip industry executive.
Let’s see how well the employees in their new Germany plant will put up with such bullshit.
So, it seems that the investors are different for the TSMC factory being built in Japan and the factory being built in the United States, and which factory will make more profits once it starts operating?I don’t think Japan’s technological capabilities will have much of an impact because TSMC’s production technology is probably the same for both.
Does this mean chips will stop costing more in Japan than what they cost in other places ?
