I am currently working full-time at an eikaiwa, and I have been offered a small part-time job to assist at some events with a different company. I asked my eikaiwa if that was okay and received the reply, “You can do whatever you want in your free time.”
Now, I’m wondering about my next steps. Should I contact immigration before or after I get my part-time contract? Do I need to fill out any other forms, such as obtaining my school director’s signature to confirm it’s okay for me to work another job?

You have to contact immigration to get permission to engage in work outside the scope of your vida.
You need permission from immigration to work outside the confines of your visa.
