My friend and I (30F) are staying in Shinjuku so we were planning on going out to Warp or ZeroTokyo one night (unless you all are really against one of these two) after exploring Golden Gai beforehand. What’s the general attire? My friend was going to wear a black minidress but I was thinking jeans or a skirt and a cute shirt with sneakers. I get foreigners and locals dress differently and I also know club attire vs Golden Gai are different but what’s the general consensus for the actual clubs. We’re both from Miami if that gives you a better idea. Thank you!

Nobody really dresses up specially for clubs like the ones you mentioned, any going out attire will be fine. Just make sure to wear closed toed shoes

I’ve seen lotta girls wearing wedges and kitten heels — both opened and closed toed. There is tons of walking so style for endurance.
People dress pretty modestly in Japan, but the evening in kabukicho will likely allow for more leeway. I definitely felt judged at times for wearing shorts that didn’t go all the way to finger length during the day time.
I would pack options so you can mix it up after gauging the night scene. A lot of locals will wear dresses that cover their chest and a little shorter than knee length at night around Golden Gai. I definitely saw tourists dressed like they were clubbing in the states and they really stuck out. No shame, I personally have a lot of social anxiety and wouldn’t feel comfortable in that attire here.
Lol normal clothes, nothing more cringe than dressing specially to go to a club.

I was at Warp on Thursday I think you can wear anything. i wore a tank top and shorts with converse
