Hi! My husband and I are planning to take a day trip from osaka to kyoto end of October. We plan to visit (in this order):
1. Hozugawa river boat ride
2. Sagano romantic train
3. Amanohashidate
4. If there’s time, a stop by Ine
We are researching on 1 day car rental from osaka so that we do not need to be bogged down by specific train timings, especially to and from amanohashidate since it is quite far up north. IDP obtained.
I know people usually do sagano train first then the boat ride back, but if we do rent a car, there’s no parking at/near Saga Torokko Station (please correct me if I’m mistaken), so we are exploring parking at/near Kameoka Torokko Station, taking the boat ride down and then the train back up.
From there, we will head on to amanohashidate.
If there’s time, maybe stop by Ine. Otherwise we will head back to Osaka.
Advice please:
1. Any thoughts/comments on the day trip above?
2. Tips on driving from Osaka to amanohashidate? Any tolls etc, are all street signs in Japanese? Any stops to take for lunch/quick views? I will do further research on this but thought to jump-start using this community. Thanks!
