Back then many people used their own unique phones for social media, games, and e-wallet. Nowadays they are replaced by the iPhones which many people does all over the world? When will Japan going back to use their own unique phones by their brand?

Japan is not going back to using Japanese phones because who the hell wants some Aquos or Fujitsu monstrosity?

Well… iPhone dominant in Japan. But I have one simple question. If iPhone Dominant in Japan then why didn’t they use Apple Messaging, iMessage?

I’m a developer who works with a lot of emerging tech. I was in japan with likeminded people less than 3 months ago, in akiba.iPhone has ***some*** dominance but it’s not overwhelming.I see a lot of Samsung users, especially the new fold and flip when they came out. Pixel and Sony still have some adherents along with huawei and sanyo. There’s a lot of things you can do on android that you can’t do on iphone, but the same is true in the other direction. 3d scanning is way better on iphone. iPhones also dominate for Vtuber use. The TOF laser is really important and only iphone cares enough to put that in.Techy gamers and vr fans usually go for android, or, actually have BOTH, which isn’t too surprising.
On the same note, if someone wants to answer, is there any particular disadvantage to _not_ having an iPhone while living here? I’m on a fairly new Pixel myself and so far so good.
I see no one has mentioned that the Japanese companies do Android in a flip phone format, which seems mostly marketed to old folks who have skipped smartphones but now need to upgrade as 3G is being turned off.
