Hey,
Wer’e a couple (27YO) coming to Kyushu on Golden week (End of April- beginning to May) as part of a 31days trip to Japan. During this month we are planning to visit Japan big cities (Tokyo, Osaka, Kyoto) for 2 week. We want to visit more of Japan Countryside and Nature for about 2 weeks.
we thought about renting a camper van (Need to start and end at Fukuoka) and do as follow:
Day 1: Nanzoin, Sakurai Shrine Futamigaura Torii, Keya no Ohto, Nyoirinji and Ukiha Inari Shrine
Days 2-4: Visiting mt. Aso: Day hikes: Eboshi, Neko, NAKADAKE, TAKADAKE PEAKS, MOUNT KISHIMA, Kamishikimi Kumanoimasu Shrine
Day 5: Goroga Falls, Unoko Falls, Takachiho Gorge, Amanoiwato Shrine, Driving to Yufuin
Day 6: Ryumon Falls, Jionnotaki, Mount Yufu, Mount Tsurumi, Onbara Falls, Shiraito Falls, Beppu
Day 7: Nabeyama Onsen, Higashi Shiiya Falls, kumano magaibutsu, Rakanji Temple
Day 8: Different places we didn’t have a chance to visit on days 1-7 and Driving back to Fukuoka
After arriving to Foukuoka we have a flight to Yakoshima for another 4 Days.
As you can see its quite pack, I assume we will not visit **every place** on the list (But i assume Campervan will give as flexibility regarding where to visit and where to spend the night).
Is there any places you recommend visit that are not inc. in the Itinerary?
Is there is a place you think is not worth the drive\\Time to visit?
regarding onsens:
It Seem that in Kyushu all of the Onsens are an actual facility- where i looking for something more “In nature” (like Nabeyama Onsen) Is there any recommendation for something of that sort?

With the camper van if you want to save some money there are free camping sites around Japan.

Some of the ones [here](http://charan-onsen.jp/sp/noten/index.html) may be of interest, maybe [this one](http://charan-onsen.jp/sp/noten/ooita_beppu_turunoyu.html)?
If you are at all interested in ceramics, there’s loads of options for it — Onta, Koishiwara, Okawachiyama are the more rural/scenic towns, but there’s also Arita, Hasami, Karatsu, et cetera. Also, tea in the countryside near Yame.
My son lives in Kumamoto and one of his friends is from Oita. She goes there almost every weekend for the Onsen. I would recommend that if you can swing up there. [https://www.lonelyplanet.com/articles/best-onsen-in-oita-japan](https://www.lonelyplanet.com/articles/best-onsen-in-oita-japan)
