Hi guys!! I’ll be attending a concert for the first time in Tokyo & I wonder if it’s okay to bring a GoPro with a small tripod for it. Are they strict about it or I can discreetly bring in?

Even if pictures and/or video are allowed, there is no way in hell you’d get away with a tripod.
Concert? Like ticketed event that costs xxxxx yen and has a lottery/etc to enter? No way you’re bringing a camera there. They will also usually have an announcement saying something like no photos/videos and they’ll have staff randomly checking the seats to make sure nobody’s recording.
A live house for a random/unknown band, yeah that’s another story. They might actually appreciate being on camera.
About the only thing you can “discreetly” bring in are those recording glasses or a binoculars with built in camera. Just make sure any kind of activity lights are covered up.
It’s very rare that it’s allowed. They are strict and security will shit all over you as soon as they see a camera pop up in the crowd.
I was at a festival earlier this year and they allowed photography for the foreign acts, but for the Japanese ones it was strictly forbidden even though it was the same stage. Kind of funny.
Can I ask why you would want to?
Just enjoy the show without being a nuisance to other attendees

It differs on every event so check the event guidelines. Most of Japanese concerts don’t allow filming.
Sometimes i wonder why people go to concerts if all they’re gonna do is just stand around and film it.

Not even Tokyo Disney would allow you to bring in a tripod.
