Vocational school then English teaching

I’m a bit confused because some sources say that you need a bachelors for teaching english and others say that if you get a vocational school degree in Japan (I would assume specializing in childcare would help), and have N2 level, some companies will take you in anyway. Is this true? And would those compaines be able to sponsor a visa?

  2. Having a degree (or 10 years experience) is a requirement for the working visa. Vocational school degrees do count, but they limit you to work in the field you majored in. I’m not sure if childcare would allow you to teach English, or if you’d need to do a TEFL course (which I’m not sure whether they exist at vocational schools). Maybe you can find answers on r/teachinginjapan
