  1. I was in Tokyo for 10 days and still found interesting things. You could easily spend a week there IMO.

Anyway, the main thing I noticed is that you may be planning to do way too much in 2 weeks, especially on the Kyoto and Osaka days. Under Osaka, you have listed going to Miyajima Island, Himeji Castle, Nara, and Kobe, which seems like a lot. Unless you want to be rushing around the entire trip, I would ease up a little so you have more time to explore and have more leeway. My favorite memories were getting lost walking around lol.

I don’t have any specific hotel recommendations but getting somewhere close to Shinjuku Station is a good bet. It’s a convenient location and it has plenty of cool bars within walking distance (although that’s true of most of Japan lol).

One last thing: I never went to Hakone but if you really, really want to see Mt Fuji I would plan for some flexibility since the weather can affect the visibility. Maybe be open to going to Hakkone on any of the days while you’re in Tokyo to increase the odds of getting a good view.

  2. We have just returned from Japan (today) and also did 1 day of Hiroshima. Please eat Okonomiyaki, some good food to flush down the museum, as we found it quite sobering, enjoy!
