Where do young people hang out in Japan?

Maybe 16-20 years old. International or local.

  1. Karaokes, Bowling centers, (more of a young adults type of place imo tho)
Big Shopping Centers like Aeon Town as someone else has mentioned, Ito yokado, especially places that have a Gaming Arcade floor and Cinema aswell.
Or even your local restaurant/Fast food like Gusto or Saizeriya even McDonald’s.

  2. A big difference between Japan and America and Europe with young people hanging out, it’s very rare for them to hang out with strangers or go places they might meet new people.

  3. Mostly with friends and people from school clubs. Was hard for me to meet college aged people because everyone at the bars was always 30+

  4. For the past few years it feels like the answer is, their bedrooms. Next, Saizeriya. “Saizu itte kuru” has replaced ittekimasu for one child. Much time is spent at club and circle activities and part time jobs. Many hours are devoted to gaming whilst on chat from their respective living rooms.
