Suica/ IC Card Problem

So i moved to Tokyo about 1 month ago and am remaining here in Japan for another 5 months but we’re moving around a lot to osaka, kyoto, sapporo, kagoshima.

Up until now we’ve been using the welcome suica to get around but it’s about to expire and i’m not sure what other options there are as i’m unable to add it to my apple wallet either :/

Any help is seriously appreciated

Thanks 🙂

  1. You can buy a pasmo with a cheap commuter pass on it (make it like 1 station or something) then just ignore the pass. Or you can get a used suica from yahoo auctions/mercari at some markup – people are selling them for 1000-2000 yen.

  2. Pick up a card at a station in those other cities you mentioned since those railways are still selling them.

  3. If you are moving around, get one of the card in the other regions, like Icoca in Kansas, Kitaca in Hokkaido…
