JP Post office – EMS service

I’ve sent a parcel via ems to the uk and it hasn’t arrived. It’s been almost two weeks now. I’m getting concerned it’s been lost or stolen. Japan only tracks within Japan and it has left the country. I sent an old driving licence which had 10 days left on it.

Is there any hope with this service? Or is it a lost cause?

Edit: It’s stuck in a delivery depot, this was added at 1pm today on the parcel force website. Thanks all.

  1. Whenever I’ve sent EMS to the UK, it’s been tracked all the way to delivery. Sometimes the UK tracking is updated better than the Japan Post tracking, so it’s worth going to the Royal Mail / Parcelforce web site and putting the tracking number in there.

  2. > Japan only tracks within Japan

Is that a UK thing? I still get tracking in Canada when I send packages to Canada via EMS. What makes you think you don’t in the UK?

  3. You should still be able to track it on UK post usually. Just put in the same JPpost tag into UK post tracking.

  4. I ship via EMS as part of my job and you can track a package to its final delivery. 2 weeks is a bit long but not unheard of. Most likely it got held up in customs for whatever reason. You can however contact EMS – there’s a phone number on their website – and they will investigate it for you.

  5. I managed to track to Parcel Force sorting area. It was updated today at 13:00. Still a long way to go but thanks all for your input! Much appreciated.

  6. Royal Mail is really bad right now, especially at receiving post or packages from abroad.

Things which used to take a week now seem to take three. I’ve seen stuff get through customs and sit at my local distribution centre for weeks, before it moves to my local delivery office.

And then I only see my postman doing deliveries two or three times a week to my street. So it feels like they are batching routes to save on staff.
