lang school to designated activities visa (job hunting)

So I’ve just graduated language school. Originally I wanted to graduate in March this year but my school recommended that if I did another semester they could introduce me to a company I could intern at and then move to full time after graduation. And I could take the N2 in July. Didn’t happen. So I graduated last week intending to, with my school’s knowledge, switched to Designated Activities for job hunting. But because I’m a September graduate, they won’t give me the letter of recommendation for my visa application. They said they only those those to people who graduate in March which they could’ve and should’ve mentioned any time between February and now but didn’t. They said I can try to apply without it or I can withdraw my graduation and do another semester at school.

I would rather not do another semester. I guess I could, if push comes to shove, but I’m not benefitting from going to the school. Can I apply for Designated Activities without the letter of recommendation?

Even if they’ll process my application for a few weeks and reject it, I’d take that. I just need to be able to give my baitos enough notice before I’m not allowed to work anymore 🤡 and also be able to pay my rent for the last month.

Would they reject me immediately when I hand everything over? Any advice or suggestions welcome. I would rather stay in Japan but if it’s looking like I’ll have to go back to my country, I’ll accept it at this point.
