Can Japanese tea have an expiration date?

I got some Japanese tea a few years ago and forgot about it. As tea is a dried product can I still drink this tea with this date?

  1. The tea won’t go bad unless there’s been moisture (which could cause mold) or some other contaminant. It looks like you’ve kept it sealed. What will happen is that the flavor and aroma will degrade over time. As long as you don’t see or smell anything notably off, you can brew it.

  2. It’s unopened, right? I believe it’s still drinkable, but the flavor might be slightly diminished compared to a new product. :)
