My chances of getting accepted into these Japanese universities?

List:
1. Waseda
2. Sophia
3. Hosei
4. Todai (PEAK)
5. Keio
6. Temple

For primarily the majors Liberal Arts. (Or around that major for the universities that don’t offer that directly.)

These are my stats:

IB Predicted 38 or 39/42
IELTS 7.5 (8s in reading, listening and speaking, 6.5 in writing idk what happened there)

I haven’t taken JLPT, but I’m at around an N3 level. I currently live in Japan and go to an international school.

I’ve done external exams like olympiads and UNSWs and have secured medals of distinction as well as international ranks in the subjects General Knowledge, Science and English.

My extracurriculars:

– School Vice President (Student Council)
– Organized a fundraising bake sale where all profits made were sent to a nonprofit organization
– Organized MUNs (Director General, as well as won Best Speaker at another MUN I was a delegate in and was a Vice Chair at yet another MUN)
– Organized TEDx (main organizer)
– Debate Club (for 3 months)

I have pretty strong letters of recommendation as well, I think. 😭 I’m really nervous. Any sort of advice or comments would be really appreciated!!

  2. Sorry, but liberal arts is a waste of money in any university.

Honestly, Japanese universities are a waste unless you are doing something extremely technical **IN JAPANESE**. Everything else tends to be a mix of adulthood training and social class separation. The English programs wouldn’t pass accreditation in any English speaking nation, they are just a cash grab.
