Any chance any of you know how some of the shirt sizes run from NJPW’s shop?

I really can’t decide what size to get for this shirt between a small or medium but because of the return policy I have to get it right, so I was curious if anyone knew how the sizes ran? Normally when I get shirts from AEW I get a small and they fit well but a little snug, so was just curious if these fit any differently

  1. american dude that lives in Japan checking in. I’m 5’5″ 195 lbs and a large fits me perfect. These shirts do shrink a bit after first wash. Whatever shirt size you are in the states I would go one up for sure. I’m a medium in the US and if I bought a medium Taichi shirt at a njpw show it would probably fit me like an under armor that I can’t pull over my stomach.

  2. Probably medium. Can always force shrink with hot water/drying to shrink a bit if desired, can’t do much to make it bigger.

  3. I have an LIJ shirt that I bought at a NJPW show in Tampa in January 2020 and it was from the NJPW store as opposed to a PWTees version. You can tell because the njpw shop ones have their logo on the inside where the tag should be as opposed to the tag being from a shirt brand like Tultex, Gildan, etc.

That said, the NJPW shirt still fits great and was true to size.

  4. EDIT: my experience is about ordering from the Japanese site and getting shirts at shows in Japan

I’m normally a medium, so I ordered an L and it was too big. I later got shirts in mediums and they are ever so slightly tight. They’re tighter than a US M, but def don’t fit like a US S. Like someone else said, like a half size smaller.

  5. As a big lad I’ve actually found that white NJPW tees are what you would expect but black ones run smaller lol

  6. I’ve bought a couple of shirts from them and they always ran small to me. And even when I bought a size up, she sleeves always felt too short and tight around the armpits. You’re milage may vary but I could never get the right fit figured out for me and it was always frustrating because getting stuff shipped to America from there is an expensive pain in the ass.

  7. UPDATE: I copped in a medium 😎 I’m a huge Will Ospreay mark but he doesn’t have any shirts that really catch my eye, so what better for my first NJPW shirt than Yota Tsuji whom I also love

  8. I would get a size up tbh seems to fit well when you go up a size up!

Quality sometimes is not the best but I had my pary for Tonga shirt having a hole in it after a few months but I guess that’s one bad t-shirt in a couple I’ve brought.

  9. if it’s from the tokon global shop, it’s American sizes. if it’s from Japan, everything is like one size smaller.

  10. They’re Japanese sizing so they’re one size smaller than normal US fits. Ex Japanese – Large is a US – Medium

  11. Japanese sizes run small so go up a size to be sure if you order from the Japanese shop. Global prints their shirts on US shirts, so just order your normal size.
