In search of online therapy

Hello,

Due to some mental health and individual issues, I have been told by some of my good friends that I should consider finding a therapist (a lot of the issues I have do not feel in the comfort of sharing to my family).

Does anyone here have any good resources on finding an online therapist? I currently live in Shunan, Yamaguchi. If there is one that has a more reasonably cheap offer that would be much appreciated, since I unfortunately don’t get paid a lot of money in my line of work. Stay healthy everyone.

  1. If you are looking for an online therapist I guess they don’t need to be in Yamaguchi. Have you looked into [BetterHelp.com](https://BetterHelp.com)? I don’t know if they fit your budget but thought I would add my two cents.

  2. If you are a U.S. citizen and still have an address you’re associated to in the U.S., then I suggest trying Open Path Collective. They have a network of low cost therapists (because we know how the exchange rate is) you can choose from. You pay an initial like $60 fee then when you start speaking to your therapists, your sessions can range from $30-$60. The therapist has to be from the state you’re from though, hence the need for an address. I’ve been using it since before I came to Japan and it’s been great.
