Replacing child Suica

My child has lost her Suica. It’s registered to her as a child card, and it will probably turn up if I wait a while and call around, however if I want to get her another earlier.. do they still issue to children with the suspension of Suicas and Pasmos ?

Seems the only options are buying tickets manually or digging out an old smartphone

  1. This is possible as long as the card is registered. you just need to go to a major train station, smaller stations won’t be able to do it. It will cost 1,000 yen but if the old card gets handed in you’ll get 500 yen back. As long as no one has used the card, the whole balance will be transferred onto your new card.

  2. Give it a couple days, and you’ll likely get a call from the koban or bus company. If you don’t hear from it soon, you have to go to certain stations to get it replaced. Not all do.
