I plan to move to Japan

So this is a pretty important decision and i wanted to ask other people , who are maybe in similar situations.I want to move to Japan but im only going into undergrad (unlike most people moving to Japan ) I wanted to know if people thought continuing higher education in their own country or Japan is better . I’m about to pass n1 and I could argue that my level is above that .So let’s just assume my Japanese is enough to get me through university what’s everyone’s thoughts ?

  2. Oh also I’ve been to Japan on a one year high school exchange before so , none of that I just like anime so I’ve decided to move there

  3. I wouldn’t make watching a particular media a basis for future life decisions.

Any plans on what you actually want to do in Japan that you can’t do elsewhere?

  4. Not sure why you get downvoted so much. Life is short, do what sets your soul on fire. If it’s Japan, go for it. Worst case ; you hate it you come back. You’d waste a lot of money but it’s life.
My friend has lived in Tokyo for 5 years. She actually got married and moved back to Canada with her Japanese husband, because life is hard there. Anyway, she attended Temple U and worked as a waitress at Hooters. They give tips at Hooters since it’s an American restaurant, so she was able to put herself through uni. She graduated from Asian/Japanese studies or something like that. Her Japanese was good, since she was studying it and was N1, but after spending 5 years there, she’s become even better. Her husband doesn’t speak English and is struggling a little in Canada to learn, so they might go back. Every country has pros and cons. Find what’s good for you

  5. About to pass n1? So then you haven’t taken it yet? Sure, if you pass N1 though and feel comfortable enough in a Japanese university environment go for it

  6. r/poop enjoyer is moving to Japan. Foreigners sending the absolute best of their gene pool as per usual.

  7. I don’t really understand how I’m getting down voted so much but it’s ok .Thanks to all the people who actually gave me worthwhile advice , I really appreciate it .This hasn’t been a light hearted decision for me , I’ve been studying Japanese for 8 long years now ,originally starting just wanting to understand anime . Throughout my multiple visits and living there for a year before , I fell in love with Japan (despite it’s many faults 😅.)I will return to the uk if it doesn’t work out and that’s ok !Also I was actually really concerned about my bowel problems that’s why I consulted the internet!Anyways thanks everyone!!
