Aishah Levine method international education???

Anyone familiar with this YouTuber turned author/entrepreneur?

She’s an American with non English-speaking Japanese husband whose videos focus on her bicultural family. But she’s become this guru on raising “international” kids and is pushing all sorts of books and seminars through her “Levine Method Education” Academy products. https://www.levineeducation.com/about

My wife’s been thinking about joining this academy and maybe dragging me along to a seminar or two. Her videos are just kind of shallow selfie talking head vlogs about what her family did over the weekend. Her kids aren’t even out of elementary school, so not sure how she can measure her expertise.

And then there is the price. I’m not sure my wife will get her money’s worth and it just becomes an avenue to push more and more products.

The whole gimmick seems a bit stinky, but maybe my understanding of it is a bit shallow. Anyone out in Reddit land can share insight?

  1. Never heard of her, but I would stay far far away from this. The woman is clearly good at one thing, marketing.

Unless this is what she teaches, and what you want your kids to learn…

  2. She started her YT channel “Bilingual Baby” when her first kid was 2…

I’m sure her deep understanding and vast experience of child education will be exactly what you’re looking for /s

  3. No educational background, apparently works at Dentsu as an advertising executive… your wife won’t learn anything that she can’t get for free off YouTube or just simply existing.

  4. Waste of money. Just another “influencer” scam.

This should tell you everything you need to know: She has a degree in finance and her work experience is in marketing. She has no background in education, child rearing (other than raising her own kid), social work, psychology, sociology, or anything else that would make someone even remotely qualified to give lectures and seminars to others. She is a marketing person.

  5. Selling “e-courses” is SO scammy. No one is an “expert”
at raising bilingual children (is that the YouTuber’s bent? I’m literally just guessing) and what’s more, every family is different so it’s hard to say that any advice would apply to your family specifically.

If your wife is really interested in raising bilingual children, she’s much better off making real friends with real people who have a similar family.

AND! My kids *don’t* speak English and they are perfectly happy and well adjusted. So THERE. 笑

  6. Sounds like she has exactly the same qualifications Aeon’s founder had to start his eikaiwa chain.

  7. Trust your instincts here. Invest time and money into your relationship with your kid, don’t give it to a Youtube charlatan.

  8. She is an “expert” with absolutely no track record. Forget about it, the only thing she is good at is finding new clients.

  9. Lol well damn, I gave a seven year old daughter that’s bilingual, call me an expert now. Hell, you can call me Professor. Maybe Dr.

But yeah, that’s stupid. Like how the hell is YouTube vids and tweets about her daily life going to help anyone.

I mean, in terms of making money that’s clever. Like she gets people on a paid subscription, then makes them watch her YouTube clips which also generate income.

  10. wow. her instagram is just like every other japanese momfluencer i’ve seen, so i’m not sure what exactly she’s peddling except that she’s a foreigner?

there’s plenty of amazing, evidence-based books on parenting. maybe ask your wife what she wants to know/what she hopes to learn from this ‘influencer’ and start from there.

    good luck!
