Esim that can be used to open a JP bank account

Hello! Any tips on what esim i can get (i have an iphone 11 pro), but at the same time the number will be accepted when I apply for Japanese bank account? I’m a student for 2 years only but I need the bank acct for my stipend.

  1. rakuten Mobile they handle esims but please check network coverage in your area. they don’t have much coverage outside cities but affordable

  2. If Rakuten’s coverage isn’t good, try Ahamo, the docomo’s sub-brand. Ahamo can issue an e-sim with voice+sms+20GB/month. You need a credit card, passport, and Residence Card (在留カード) .

  3. Literally any of them? Docomo, Ahamo, Line Mobile, iijmio, etc. just don’t buy one that’s data only.
