worked for 11 days, but social insurance is deducted from what i would have been paid for a month.

\[tldr : social insurance got deducted from what i would have been paid for working a month(22 days) not from what i got paid for working(11days)\]

this post is related to social insurance tax in japan. i came to japan a month ago. worked for 11 days previous month. but social insurance is deducted in full, not by the salary i got paid for working 11 days but got deducted by how much i would have been paid for working whole month(22 days). so i just wanted to get more information on this, then talk in my company and local government where it is paid. so i would like to hear from people who know more about this.

i don’t know the rules but it’s kind of ridiculous if social insurance has to be paid by how much you would have made but not by how much you made.

  1. I don’t get it. You have to pay every month. What does amount worked have to do with anything?

Do you mean that you only want insurance on the days you worked?

  2. Japanese social security premiums are charged monthly, not by working percentage. Doesn’t matter that you worked one day of 100 days, your charge is a monthly value based on your supposed income.
