For people who drink energy drinks for caffeine

I don’t know if this is a new thing but there’s this 200mg caffeine Boss coffee in FamilyMart that’s mocha flavor and actually tastes good. (for me) Its in a red can and I think it was 130 yen. Its not overly sweet like Redbull & Monster so its easier to drink.

Most canned coffee drinks in Japan like Boss or Georgia or whatever don’t even have caffeine in them so before that, I used to buy energy drinks for caffeine.

edit: I assumed there wasn’t any because whenever I checked the can it doesn’t say xD

I know there are better ways to get caffeinated but this is my way!

If you buy Rebull 250ml (80mg of caffeine) or Monster the pink one (161mg) for the taste though ignore this post.

Sorry for my English, I am Japanese. Thank you

  1. Yes! I found this recently and wanted it as a preworkout but it’s not in any stores near my house. I went with caffiene pills instead which are probably cheaper in the long run.

  2. I actually don’t like the coffee taste, but like monster one! Small correction, Monster cans (355ml) have 120-200mg of caffeine in Japan, not 40, and definitely not grams.

    I think they have 32mg and 40mg respectively… (32g == 32,000mg)

That said, if you just want (need?) caffeine, you could just get caffeine tablets instead.

  4. I just use caffeine pills. The tiny cans don’t have enough caffeine for me. Also I’m cheap, and 1000¥ for 100 pills is great.

I do buy coffee drinks on occasion just for fun so I’ll give it a try one of these days.

  5. too bad cans are so small though. i suppose the total amount is significantly smaller due to sheer size difference. Whats total amount in a can caffein boss vs total amount in a monster for instance?

  6. Yeah I was all excited about those Boss extra caffeine coffees when they first came out a few months back but then I went to the boss website and saw they don’t have that much more caffeine than normal black. So more bang for my ¥ just to buy the 600ml black coffee. More caffeine (because bigger) and no sugar.

  7. The Boss Caffeine Cans have been around since middle of last year, especially at PA and SA vending machines. Very good stuff for a long drive but I prefer Zone.

3x to 4x the typically fatal dose? Living dangerously, I see.

  9. If someone is drinking redbull or monster on a daily baisis they probably need to reconsider their lifestyle.

  10. Been hooked on this drink for a while. All the flavors are good and idk if it’s cause of the higher caffeine but I enjoy drinking it more than a normal coffee too

  11. *laughs in celcius packets*

Im pretty sure the canned coffee got at least some caffeine in it, otherwise it’ll be labled “no caffeine” or “caffeine free”

  12. That’s not the only flavor in that series! The vending machine at work has 3 flavors, Au Lait, Mocha, Mixed Blend. The Mocha is the best, though!

  13. Oh man. I need to be careful of these then.
Seriously, I drink to damn much coffee, and popping a few of these in a day could cause some health issues.

I never once considered that my coffee could effectively be “spiked” with caffeine..

If I need more I’ll pick an expresso, but I generally stay with coffee since I drink it far too much.
Godamn. I wonder if that’s what could be making me feel jittery and zoned out on occasion..
