Using 2 decks in Anki

I just downloaded Anki after 10 months of learning. I want to try out the tango N4/N5 decks, and combined them into one. Should I also create my own deck so that I can keep immersing in native content, and add new words to my “Immersion Deck”?

If so, should I study both decks every day?

I’m just a little confused on how I should get started in Anki after already learning nearly 2000 words

  1. I mean if you already know 2k words anyways why do the Tango decks? These decks should cover the 2k most used words, so you shouldn’t find a lot of new words there. Having an immersion deck is a good idea, especially if you already have a base of 2k words and is also what I’d recommend.

  2. if you’ve already learnt nearly 2000 words I’d reckon u can just jump straight into making your own deck from immersion and focus on a single deck first. I just finished the n4 tango deck myself and can’t wait to finally move on from premade decks.
