I am traveling today to Kyoto with my wife for my first trip to Japan (spending the majority of trip in Korea). I am hoping to see nature/scenery, temples, and just take in the vibe. Don’t necessarily have a strict budget and don’t need to see everything.
Here is my proposed itinerary:
*Today*:
-Check in to hotel
-Nishiki market?
-Gion
*Tomorrow*:
-Kinkaku-ji
-Nijo castle
-Otagi
-Arashiyama
*Wednesday*:
-Fushimi Inari Taisha

wednesday, you could still find stuff to do, you wont spend all day in fushimi inari
You can do more stuff on wednesday if you spend the morning at fushimi inari. My favorite temple in Kyoto is Sanjusangendo, its near Kyoto Station. You could check it out, it costs 600¥ 🙂 bring good socks if you do, you have to go barefoot
How about visiting Kiyomizudera and Gion area on Wednesday?
You should go to Ramen Museum, its your dream place!
Just staying at Fushimi during Wednesday is also an option. There are at least twenty sake winery in the area, Gekkeikan Okura Museum offers a winery tour with tasting, a preserve canal area with boat rides, and lots of great restaurants.
