I’ve always thought Meiji smells more like artificial flavouring whereas Lotte has real cacao flavour. But my husband disagrees, so I don’t know. I mean, some love Cadburys, which to me is more like a bar of sugar than cacao, so I guess it’s really down to one’s preference after all.
Lotte ghana roasted milk is best. The one in yellow packing.
They are literally the same to me. If they subjected me to a blind test I’m confident I’d just be making random guesses. But I do remember one being a few yen cheaper than the other at the combini

Damn, I was staring at Lotte and Meiji chocolate covered Macadamias this morning, decided to get the Meiji for my crew bc that’s my brand, used to live near their chocolate factory in Takatsuki, Osaka. I don’t know if it was a bad batch, but it was really bland (or I have Covid & don’t know it) and I was so disappointed.
100% agree, I love chocolate almonds but if they don’t have Meiji I buy something else
Buy your chocolate and almonds separate. You can get better quality than that for cheap.
Sadly the content of chocolate boxes seems to change over time. I swear it was not the same 5 years ago.
