Was hoping to get some feedback on our trip and make sure we’re not missing anything major! We’ve intentionally left things a little on the lighter side cause we’d love to just be able to walk around a bit without feeling rushed and check out things that look interesting to us. The big things are firm as they’re already booked, but everything else is pretty flexible.
We both like nerdy stuff like anime and Japanese culture in general. My wife is dying to go to Universal/Disney so those are her non negotiables (one day of Disney is more than enough for me but alas). We’ll definitely check out some shrines and temples but probably not a huge amount of them.
**Day 1 – Tokyo**
Arrive at Narita aiport around 3 PM. Check in to hotel, maybe check out Naritasan Shinshoji Temple, Omotesando, or a bit of the surrounding area depending how tired we are.
**Day 2 – Tokyo > Osaka**
Morning: Bullet train to Osaka, check in to hotel (this hotel will be our base of operations for the Kansai region)
Afternoon: Free time
Evening: Free time
**Day 3 – Osaka**
Morning: Osaka aquarium
Afternoon: Possibly a bit of aquarium, free time
Evening: Dinner reservation at all you can eat/drink bbq place
**Day 4 – Osaka**
Universal Studios all day
**Day 5 – Kyoto**
Early morning: Fushimi Inari Hike & Bamboo forest
Morning/Afternoon: Kimono rental, Higashiyama Ward, Shrines/Temples, Gion area
Evening: Free to explore
**Day 6 – Kobe**
Morning: Herb Mountain or Mt Rokko
Afternoon: Harborland
Evening: Kobe beef dinner reservation
**Day 7 – Hiroshima**
Morning: Peace Museum
Afternoon: Miyajima or Hiroshima castle
Evening: Okonomimura
**Day 8 – Hakone**
All day: Ryokan/Check out the area
**Day 9 – Tokyo**
Morning: Travel from Hakone, staying in Shibuya for rest of Tokyo
Afternoon/Evening: Check out Shibuya / Harajuku
**Day 10 – Tokyo**
Morning: Shibuya
Afternoon: Parco (6th floor), Shibuya scramble, 109 Shibuya
Evening: Karaoke
**Day 11 – Tokyo**
All day: Disney Land
**Day 12 – Tokyo**
All day: Disney Sea
**Day 13 – Tokyo**
Morning: Odaiba
Afternoon/Evening: Meet up with some family, check out K-town
**Day 14 – Tokyo**
All day: Kawagoe with family
**Day 15 – Tokyo**
Morning: Akihabara
Afternoon: Asakusa
Evening: Free time
**Day 16 – Utsunomiya**
All day: Stay at families place, check out the city
**Day 17 – Nikko**
All day: Check out Nikko
**Day 18 – Tokyo**
Morning: Shinjuku
Afternoon: Ikebukuro + anime tower
**Day 19 – Tokyo**
Free day to revisit anything or check something out
**Day 20 – Depart**
