I have a few red spots on my upper thigh, they look to be some sort of bug bite. That was on Saturday. The next day my entire thigh was pretty sore. My leg is, I think, better, but still sensitive 4ish days later.
I’ve been monitoring the spot and the area where I was bit hasn’t gotten any worse, there isn’t any swelling, other than the relatively mild pain I have no other symptoms, so I don’t think I have to run to the doctor or anything. That said, I’m wondering if anybody has had a similar reaction to any bug bites in Japan?
Googling in English gives me not a ton of results, and most are US centric it seems, so I was hoping for some Japan specific experiences.
Thank you!

It could be トコジラミ or 南京虫, and if it is then you might need to hire a company to exterminate them. They can cause serious harm.
had this recently after going to tokyo in shorts. came back with 5 large marks on my legs that were very itchy. Or at least I presumed I got them in Tokyo. I just used some anti inflammitory cream when it was very itchy and kept an eye on it, it got better. If it hadn’t gotten better at all within a week or two then I would have tried to go to a doctor.

Just monitor and keep an eye out for new ones
Go to a dermatologist. They’re the ones who specialize in insect bites. It’ll likely cost less than ¥1000 out of pocket.
