So I moved to Japan this year as an Alt. Ive got 14 years experience teaching and man alt work in junior high is sooooo much easier than what I have been doing.
Im currently with Borderlink and thankfully I got placed in great schools and have amazing coordinators (which I know is insane luck).
I actually would stay with Borderlink but the pay (especially the no pay for August ) is what has me feeling if its worthwhile.
I also heard that depending on Boe I may not even be in the same schools/prefecture if they dont renew the contract.
So as a safety net Im checking out other places in Osaka.
Are there any companies I should flat out avoid? Im looking to make more without leaving my area because I love my apt location and tbh idk if I could afford to pack up and move come March.

isn’t there r/teachinginjapan that would probably have better answers for you than this sub?
If Osaka, check if CNET is hiring.
I can’t think of any ALT company that pays any better than the other or pays for summer aside from maybe JET? But that’s government run. Eikaiwa and preschool companies have some competitive benefits, but at the end of the day, you’re still just a tool to be used, so don’t expect much.
I will say, I dunno if they’re in Kansai, but stay away from Heart and Interac.
