My son and I are trying to collect one of each of the IC cards in Japan (11 in total and we have 4 so far). With the SUICA and PASMO card no longer being sold because of the IC chip shortage, I was wondering if someone might have an old one or one they don’t use that they would be willing to donate (or I can reimburse them for it)?

they’re for sale on mercari/yahoo auctions for that purpose
I think the tourist version is better looking for collecting purpose.

11? How naive.
There is 10 main cards, including 1 that is post paid so you need to register like a credit card. Out of them, at least 4 have a tourist version. Then some have a regional variant.
Then there is regional cards with one way compatibility with the main cards, about 22 of them, then a dozen of regional cards that include Suica. And finally some regional cards that are not compatible at all.
