Hey all, my solo Tokyo trip is finally happening 28 Oct – 04 Nov 2023. Would be great if you could help, and would love some recommendations too! (Food and cool, lesser known spots esp!)
Also I read that Shibuya area will be controlled during Halloween period, how will it affect my plans/ do I need to note anything?

>Walk from Ikebukuro to Shinjuku
kinda random but OK I guess. I used to live in the middle (Takadanobaba) so check out the Big Box if it’s still there maybe.
Takao-San is a nice day-hike but it’s mostly just an easy hike up a woodsy hill (there’s one view spot on the way I used to go up).
My first day in Tokyo was spent at Shakujii near the park and that’s a quiet neighborhood and the station area gives you a feel for how suburban Tokyo lives. There’s also the larger Inokashira park, 20+ minutes via express from either Shibuya (Inokashira-sen) or Shinjuku (Chūo-sen express) to Kichijōji.
Going all the way to Kawaguchiko your first full day seems like a bit of a waste of time. It’s at least 2 to 3 hours each way.
You will most likely be able to see Fuji from the top of Takao-san. Jump on the Keio-sen early and go to the top to see the view. On the way back to Shinjuku, stop to enjoy the temple at Takahadafudo.
By the time you return to Shinjuku, you will be ready to wash up and go to Roppongi for dinner and nightlife.
Also, the route search tool on the Travel Japan app is very convenient.
