I got a job offer in Japan and was wondering if I can bring my boyfriend over on a spouse visa (get married in the us), or in Japan to do it, also if he would have to fly back or would the salary requirements/ taxes would be waived if I haven’t started working/ gone to Japan yet. Thank you!!

Are you a Japanese citizen? The rules are different for converting a tourist visa to a spouse visa (married to Japanese citizen) vs changing tourist visa to a dependent visa (married to a foreign resident).
Think carefully about your positions when marring another foreign and living together in Japan.
