How to fill out an international post card?

Before anyone says anything – I tried googling but I find the info quite ambiguous. This is also not only my first time sending an international post card, but any post card in general. It‘s just not a thing my generation does a lot. But I want to send one home to my parents because I know they‘ll appreciate it.

So what do I do? I‘ve seen some manuals on how to fill out JP postcards, but they always include some layout I don‘t see on mine. This one is just empty. Where do I put the stamp? Where my address etc. and where does the „by air mail“ sticker go?

I know this is a bit of a silly question to ask as an adult, but please bear with me. I‘d really appreciate some help, thanks

  1. If you google “postcard how to fill” and look on images, you’ll see the layout is pretty standard. Stamp + airmail sticker on top right, Address underneath, message on the left side. With Japan, I’ve read it’s helpful to write“TO:” just before the address so they know where it starts, and then “AIR MAIL” below the address so it’s obviously international, but I’m sure it’d be fine regardless.

  2. Just as usual, write text on left side, address on the right and make sure to put the country name in capital letters.

  3. If you are sending to the US, just do the normal address and write USA after the zip code. Just sent some postcards from Japan last week and everyone got them today!
