Diplomas lost

Hello!

I am hoping I could find some advice here, I received an offer to work as an ALT but I have been asked for a copy of my diplomas + transcripts. I moved abroad many many years ago and my parents kept them (or were supposed to) but as expected they now can’t find anything.

I can get transcripts and confirmation of graduation from my university but they won’t issue a new diploma, would this be an issue? I’m scared the offer will be retracted and I am not sure if I can even obtain a Work visa with any company with only transcripts and a certificate of graduation.

Any advice please? 😢

  1. You just need a transcript. Your university will provide them for free or for a fee. Get a couple of extra ones in case you need them for a future job.

Don’t listen to idiots who tell you submit fake PhotoShop documents.

  2. Some universities you can actually request an e copy of your diploma. Then maybe your can use Adobe scan so it appears like the physical one.

  3. Are you sure your university doesn’t offer a duplicate diploma? I lost my diploma and requested another copy. They printed out another for a fee and it has a stamp indicating that it is a duplicate. Immigration didn’t seem to be concerned it was not the original copy.

  4. You can have your parents take a picture of your diploma, or scan it, and then send you the pic via email. Easy peasy.

  5. So, universities don’t send out a replacement diploma anymore?? I believe it should still be possible as long as you provide your university with necessary information to verify who you are and pay a fee. Did you ever made a photocopy of the original?? I don’t think it is necessary to show your transcript because that’s a bit too much. Hope you will be okay.
