Language school visa financial sponsor

I’m going to study at a language school next April (ISI). I have almost all the documents ready except for the “written proof of support” document.

I can’t self-sponsor right now because I don’t have enough money for that and haven’t worked full-time for long enough (I’m currently working full-time to save up as much money as possible for the language school).

Because I can’t self-sponsor my grandmother wants to sponsor me but I still plan to pay for all my expenses when I’m in Japan (both tuition and living costs).

For the written proof of support document I have to fill in amounts that she will send me per year and per month but I don’t want her to pay for my studies and I’m sure she wouldn’t want to either. Is there any way I can just write down that she will help me in financial emergencies or something like that?

  2. The form is not a binding agreement. If you write down that she’ll send you 200,000jpy a month they’re not going to follow up to see if she actually did. But they will review the financial documents you provide to make sure that she could. So come up with a realistic budget and write those numbers down.
