Itinerary Review (17 days: Tokyo, Osaka, Nara, Kyoto, Kanazawa, Takayama)

Hi all! My husband and I are honeymooning in Japan (Nov 5-21) and celebrating our 28th & 30th birthday there. Would love some input on our schedule. I’m a little hesitant on the amount places on our itinerary, but willing to part with what may not be worth it on our first time visiting. TIA!

**Day 0: Sat, Nov 4 -** Travel Day
**Day 1: Sun, Nov 5 -** Tokyo
\- Land in Haneda airport @ 4:55 pm (Customs, Suica card, Mifi)
\- Check into Hotel (near Minato city)
\- Tokyo Tower/ Red Tokyo Tower *-or-* Mori Building (**hotel is near Tokyo tower, but read Mori building was a nice view**) Bar after?

**Day 2: Mon, Nov 6 -** Tokyo
\- Starbucks Roastery (opens at 7:00 am)
\- Meiji-jingu, Yoyogi Park

\- Shibuya crossing/Mags park rooftop
\- Shibuya sky

**Day 3: Tue, Nov 7 -** Tokyo

Pick up JR Pass
Check out of hotel → Head to Hotel (near Edogawa city)

Leave as early as possible, store luggage at Hotel (Shinsaibashi)

\- Umeda Sky Building, place to eat: Fukutaro okonomiyaki
**Day 6: Fri, Nov 10 -** Osaka

Leave to Kyoto, check into Hotel (near Higashiyama Sanjo)

\- Hachiedaime Gihey dinner @ 7:30 pm

Drop off luggage at Hotel, get bus loop pass

**Day 12: Thu, Nov 16 -** Kanazawa

Leave to Takayama early, store luggage

Head to Yukimurasaki Ryoken at 2:30 pm
**Day 14: Sat, Nov 18 -** Takayama → Tokyo
Check out @ 10:00 am, bus to Takayama

JR/train @ 3:17 pm, arrive in Tokyo 7:30 pm
Check into Hotel, explore Akasaka
**Day 15: Sun, Nov 19 -** Tokyo → Tachikawa
\- Ginza, Uniqlo
\- Train to Tachikawa, Asian Kung-Fu Generation Concert @ 5:00 pm
\- Explore Akasaka around hotel
**Day 16: Mon, Nov 20 -** Tokyo
*Asakusa*
\- Senso-ji
\- Asakusa shrine
*- Potential: Don Quijote*
\- Nakamise-dori
\- Asahi building
\- Tokyo Skytree
*Akihabara*
\- Radio Kaikan, Koto bukiya, AmiAmi, Roast Beef Ono

**Day 17: Tue, Nov 21 -** Tokyo → Home

  1. Great itinerary! Very similar to my dates and places too haha, I’m sure we’ll cross paths in the nishinari district in osaka and not even know it. Also Don quiote is always worth a visit, especially the one in Osaka. Safe travels!
