I’m trying to send a soundbar plus subwoofer to a friend and tried using Yamato’s らくらくservice but when they got to my place they told me they don’t handle speakers because it’s a 精密品. I don’t have the original box so am trying to send as-is. I can see some expensive looking services like Mimura Unsou but this really isn’t an expensive soundbar so would ideally not want to pay multiple man-yen to ship it…Yamato quoted me ~5000 before they came to my house just to tell me they can’t take it. Any ideas?

If it’s in the original box, you just go make a label on their website and call your driver/bring it to kuroneko office to drop off? You can actually print a label that says 精密品 on it and they absolutely take them – I ship that kind of shit all the time and never got questioned.
5000 also seems a bit high unless its like size 180 and you’re shipping it to okinawa or hokkaido or something.
Are you trying to just hand them the item, not wrapped and not in a box, and telling them good luck or something? At least put it in a random Amazon box or something. You can go to a conbini and take one of their 精密機器 stickers for free and slap it on there too if you want.
Wrap it in bubble wrap / newspaper and make a box.
> because it’s a 精密品
Perhaps because speakers have soft fabric and sensitive parts (speaker cones) that could be damaged? Could try bubble-wrapping the shit out of it first?
Just bubble wrap it and box it.
