I’m traveling to Tokyo and Kyoto/Osaka next april with my brother. Ages 26 and 29
In the past when traveling internationally, I’ve been able to visit some pretty awesome “local” bars and venues, that locals from the area brought me to.
Obviously with the language barrier, it really won’t be possible to make an aquantence with locals. So, I was thinking about making a shirt that said “Show me your favorite bar, and I’ll buy you a beer” in Japanese or something like that. Only to wear it one night.
Is that a dumb idea?

In the wrong areas, this could get you drugged and robbed.
Why not just learn a little bit of Japanese or ask locals if they want to practice their English?
