Itinerary check – Tokyo

Hey guys,

I am currently planning my first trip to Japan (18 days) in April next year with my girlfriend. So far this is my plan for Tokyo. Could you please give any feedback?
Is there a must-see that I am missing? As you can see we are fans of shrines and parks but we also want to see the modern parts. We don’t want to visit any tower because of my gfs fear of heights and we also don’t want to go to teamlabs.
Also in which part of the city do you recommend to stay?
Do you think taking the train to Kanazawa on Day 5 in the late afternoon/evening makes sense or should we do it on the next morning?

  1. Right now your itinerary is still quite unclear. There’s many places to stay in Tokyo so I would advise you to stay close to your activities. For example if you guys like nightlife, somewhere near shinjuku/shibuya would be great. For a more gentler nightlife, Ueno would be great. Asakusa is also another good area for first timers.

Just take note for Day 3 for Akihabara, general gaming and anime shops opening hours at 12pm-8pm so if you’re going in the evening, be prepared for a lot of shops to be nearing to closing.
