Looking at Japans Meteorological Corporations predictions on autumn leaves this year, dont you think its very late?
I was in Japan end of November last year and some trees were at their peak but many already gone and without leaves despite predictions.

We are in El Niño , my friend. Gonna be a toasty winter – so that affects when the leaves will change.
FYI the prediction is for El Niño to last until next feb at the very least. so if you’re big on skiing, it might be a dull winter.
Hmm, summer seemed to last especially long this year so maybe that has something to do with it
Latest I’ve ever seen it. Kyoto peak maples in December 13 wow.
