Yokohama and Tokyo language and design courses that would suit me?

Thanks for reading my post!
I plan to arrive in Japan in late December/early January, reside in Yokohama, and am considering which language and design course to apply for.

Some of my background is that I’ve self studied Japanese for the past few years, generally read and translate with ease. Have chewed my way through stacks of books in Japanese. I graduated from University of Toronto last year with undergrad degrees in other fields, then worked for a Japanese company where I was consulted to translate and read Japanese for non-Japanese speaking visitors. I’ve made a few friends who only speak Japanese online and communicate with them through text. I have no actual experience speaking Japanese, though(!), my fault for not mustering the confidence to accept making mistakes in situations where I could have practiced. I’m hoping to go to a school where I could practice speaking and iron out any misunderstandings or gaps in knowledge I may have formed from learning on my own all this time.

Since graduating from Toronto, I’ve shifted my focus to studying illustration and am becoming increasingly conscious of a need to learn design. Therefore, I was enthralled to learn that there are courses that combine the two, such as Yokohama College of Design.

At the moment, I’m hoping to be in a situation where I can study both and earn a student visa that will also allow me to work part time.
Happy for any potential suggestions on what would suit me best.
