Agricultural jobs in Japan?

I was wondering if anyone had any experience or advice on agricultural jobs in Japan. I am in college for agriculture right now, but I have not been planning to use my degree and have instead planned on becoming a pilot. After I got my private pilots license I started having some medical issues that could end this path for me.

I’ve always loved the type of agriculture in Japan because its a much different environment than what I’ve workin in and would love to do some work there but I’m not quite sure how to go about it. Any advice would be welcome thanks!

  1. I’m not particularly familiar with agriculture jobs in Japan but like most jobs in Japan that aren’t English teaching or computer related, you need a high level of Japanese proficiency to break through preferably with experience in your field.

I kind of feel it may be hard as a foreigner to break into the agricultural industry in Japan as a career unless you have some credentials under your belt. This is just a general perspective to give you a possible idea of what the situation could be like. I wish you all the best in what you do and hopefully there is an agricultural expert in Japan who can give you a detailed answer!
